Why You Should Carry Either Stun Guns Or Pepper Spray

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Although many people think that stun guns are dangerous, they are very helpful when you find yourself in a situation that requires some self-defense. How these guns work is they pass an extremely high voltage pulse through the individual’s nervous and muscle system. All the energy gets dumped into the muscles and this is not done normally, but rather at quite a high pulse frequency.

What this does is it causes the muscles to function very rapidly but also not very efficiently, giving you time to get help or get away. Your attacker will find it difficult to move and will have to be still for some time in order to recover.

Pepper spray on the other hand, although also very effective, is a little more difficult to use in a situation where you have to be quick. However, if you are able to reach for the spray and direct it into your attacker’s face with no problem, then that is fine.

Pepper spray when sprayed in the face will make your attacker stop moving and probably sit down. Their eyes will be burning so much they will feel like they are going to pop out and if they breathed in some of the spray, which they should have if you sprayed enough, they will find it difficult to breathe for some time. Once again, this will leave you with enough time to escape and call for help.

When shopping for stun guns you should be aware that there are many makes and models for you to choose from, each with differing voltages. If you are looking for a good little pocket or purse sized weapon look no further than the Streetwise Small Fry Stun Gun which carries 400,000 to 1,000,000 volts! Other stun guns like the Muscle Man are just as effective at 100,000- 600,000 or the Panther Stun Gun at 100,000 to 600,000 volts.

If you are interested in something, a little different you could go with the Blast Knuckles Stun Gun, hold this puppy in your fist and shock an attacker with 950,000 volts. For some serious self-defense there are stun guns with 1.2 million volts or more. Stun guns come in a variety of shapes and sizes so choose the one you are most comfortable with.

You also have many options when you are looking at pepper spray. There are units which can be carried in your pocket or on a key ring, models that look like ordinary items such as a pen or lipstick case. There are also pepper spray units designed for jogging or cycling and for home defense. You can choose the spray that best suits your needs. As you can see there is one for almost every occasion.

Carrying some form of protection wherever you go is important, you should strive to have a self-defense device with you always. Stun guns or pepper spray, it really does not matter which you prefer in fact you can carry both if you like. Just do not be caught off guard, let bad people know quickly that they messed with the wrong person! Self-protection is a right not an option so make sure you are always safe whether you are at work, in public or even at home, you can never be too careful.

Women Now Protect Themselves With C2 Tasers

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Does carrying a gun make you feel unsafe or maybe even keeping a gun in your home makes you feel unsafe. Maybe you have young children and having a hand gun around just makes you feel uncomfortable. This is completely understandable considering all the many instances we have heard of where children are injured by hand guns.

Even if you don’t want to keep a hand gun in your home you do need something to protect your family. Keeping some sort of protection device is necessary in this day in time. There is no reason that you don’t have some type of safety device to keep you and your family safe; whether you are in your home or you are walking down the street. It will make you feel safer and in control having something by your side.

If a hand gun is not the right option for you, you should take a look at the C2 Taser. This is an amazing device that has, in so many instances, saved lives. A Taser is a small machine; it fits comfortably in your hand and guarantees your safety. With a simple pull of a trigger your attacker will be in so much pain they will be paralyzed for a period of time.

It requires a background check for safety. This machine is extremely lightweight and compact. It is so easy to take it wherever you need it, in your car, purse or even at home. There are also safety features that will keep you safe even when you’re not using the Taser. There is also a light that will go off so you can see where you are aiming in the dark, to keep your target accurate. This little dude will give you approximately fifty firings but it does come with a lifetime replacement guarantee.

It is extremely safe for you to use. It can shoot up to fifteen feet away, which ensures you a safe distance to escape an uncomfortable situation. If you are close to an attacker the Taser can also be used as a stun gun device to repel someone as a backup. This is so safe there are over 500,000 users worldwide.

This baby comes in many different colors including: black, blue, silver, pink, red, leopard print, and camouflage. Along with many different colors you can also purchase holsters to match.
Although there are many different ways to protect yourself and your family there is only one C2 Taser. This is the most powerful safety device available other than a handgun. Buy one and you will never concern yourself with your safety again.

Taser Equals Non-Lethal

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

By Karen Abby

There are more stories than ever about a TASER C2 as a self defense product. There is a lot of false information being tossed around and it is By difficult to determine what is accurate and what it not.

Here are the Facts:

1. TASER is powerful, yet non-lethal self-defense weapons.

2. TASER interrupts the function of muscles and nerves through a potent current.

3. Deployment of a TASER can be from up to 30 feet away and will leave the attacker out of action because of prevailing neuro- muscular system in the body.

4. The attacker will stay out of action long enough for you to get to safety and call for help.

A growing number of people are choosing the non-lethal TASER C2 over buying a pistol or rifle, which most times are, lethal weapons. Most people don’t necessarily want to kill an attacker; they simply want to get away from the attacker and let the police arrest and deal with the situation.

There are contradictory reports as to whether A TASER is lethal or not. An article from the National Post on May 7, 2008 stated that this issue was taken to court and the court ruled that there was no evidence that A TAZER C2 or any model were the cause of death or in any way a contributing factor in the deaths of at least 68 individuals that were involved in crimes. In each of these cases, a medical condition or other non related TASER situation was determined to be the cause of death.

This is very significant information, since there have been numerous times when the blame has been wrongly placed on the weapon. Of course, it is extremely important to get accurate information and training with any weapon before using it.

A training video is included with every TASER sold. If owners of this device watch the video it should cut down on unnecessary injury.

Top 5 Reasons Why You Need a Stun Gun These Days

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The world is not always a safe place; sometime you might have to defend yourself. For that there are a lot of options. There is the AK-47 for one. It would be very effective but not very practical. There are the martial arts. It is also effective but not available by mail. That leaves use with stun guns. Of all the options it might be the best.

First they are very legal in most states and cities. There are a few place they won’t let you have one and oddly enough they are the places you might want one, like New Jersey, the City of New York (well, the whole state), and Washington, D.C. For some reason Annapolis banned them too, but most place you can carry them concealed without a permit. That a big plus because you can take it with you on vacation or business most of the time and be safe where ever you go.

Not only are they legal but they are very available. Even if there is not a store near you can go to the internet. Once there you will be able to find just what you need and the right size for your budget. Maybe you want a standard size. If you carry a large bag anyway it will only take up a little more room than a cell phone and it looks scary. Speaking of cell phone they have some that look just like cell phones. Those are great if you want to have it ready and in you hand when you walk to your car. Others are small enough to carry in a pack of cigarettes or disguised as a pen. They come as shock batons too that are great if, among other things, you fear your dog will get attacked while being walked. You can administer the shock from a safe distance. Yes, there is one for every occasion.

Another advantage stun guns have over other guns if the are non lethal. The shocks are only disrupting the voluntary muscles, involuntary muscles keep working just fine. That’s great new because you can’t kill yourself, or anybody else, by accident. After 10 minutes you will be fine. You still want to keep it out of reach of the kids but it is not a fatal weapon.

Because of the nature of the weapon you might not have to use it even if you are confronted. Between the crackling noise and the large arc electricity it is very intimidating. Your would-be attacker will think twice about messing with that.

Finally and most important, it is effective. Your attacker’s state of mind does not come into play. It does not matter if they are sober, drunk, high, or just really mad. You are not infecting pain, you are disrupting their internal electrical system. The mind might have one idea but the body will suddenly have its own.

It hard to look at the advantages of a stun gun and not realize you need one. It is at the top of the heap of nonlethal self defense weapons. It is safe, cheap, versatile, intimidating, and effective, a perfect package.

Pepper Spray and Self Defense For Women – If You Are Considering Arming Yourself With Pepper Spray

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Pepper spray comes to the minds of many when they think of women’s self defense. It is highly popular with Law Enforcement and individuals because it is portable, easy to conceal, highly effective and easy to use.

Pepper spray is very extremely powerful. If you choose to use it, do so with care.

It takes effect immediately and works by making the eyelids shut or spasm. If breathed, it constricts the bronchial tubes causing the recipient to cough and choke. It also causes a great deal of pain if it is sprayed into the eyes and face of the attacker.

This is enough to temporarily disable most people, even those who are drunk or mentally deranged. It is also used against dogs and bears.

Oleoresin capsicum, the oil of hot peppers, is the main ingredient of pepper spray. It is mixed with a propellant and put into a spray canister. Pepper sprays come in a variety of concentrations. These concentrations are measured in Scoville Heat Units or SHUs.

The amount of heat for the purpose of women’s self defense should be at least 1 to 2 million SHU. Concentration should be between 1-5%. Concentrations above 5% do not atomize well.

To put this into perspective, an oil made of habanero peppers produces up to 325,000 SHU.

A standard pepper spray canister can shoot pepper spray far enough to reach an attacker up to 10-12 feet away. Many pepper spray containers are designed to look like everyday objects such as rings and pens to make concealment easy.

Some pepper sprays contain an ultraviolet dye to make identification of the attacker easier for Law Enforcement.

Because the OC is not water soluble, it doesn’t wash away easily. The best way to neutralize its effects is to blink vigorously to encourage tears which will flush it out of the eye. Rubbing, scratching or touching the affected areas will only prolong the burning sensation.

Pepper spray can be purchased in hardware stores and outlets that sell firearms as well as the internet. But before you make the decision to purchase it, it is highly recommended that you check your local laws governing its use. While individuals can use it in most parts of the US, that is not the case in Canada and many countries in Europe where it is limited to Law Enforcement.

Many factors will affect its effective use such as specific conditions such as wind and wind direction. While Law Enforcement is generally trained in its use, most civilians are not. And, like any weapon, pepper spray can be used against you if your attacker is able to wrestle it away.

But if you are going to use pepper spray, keep in mind it is far more effective when you hold it in your hand ready to use rather than lying on the bottom of your purse.
